Virtual Interactive Systems, a Tampa Based Video and Media Production Facility has announced the official Make-Over completion to Operation Hug-A-Hero's web site:www.operationhugahero.org Virtual Interactive President, Thomas Townsend stated "we became involved with Operation Hug-A-Hero late in the Spring of 2009 and were very interested in the story they had to convey. As a veteran myself and having deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, where I was away from my children for over 16 months, I readily identified with the Mission of Operation Hug-A-Hero. They had just applied for their 501(c)(3)status and the web site they had was more of a mom and pop creation. Virtual Interactive (visin.com) has been working in the Social Media Marketing realm for the last 2 years as a natural progression from creating video infomercials for small business clients. So we wanted to help Operation Hug-A-Hero gain the exposure that they needed by creating a true community site". Over the last 6 months working with Operation Hug-A-Hero's Executive Director Lisa Berg, the creative team from Virtual Interactive has helped breathe new life into the web site. They created a Social Media Presence that has enabled better communication of the nonprofits message and mission to support the children of military deployed family's. The new web site is built on a Content Management System with Word Press at the core. The site has been built utilizing the latest tools in SEO (search Engine Optimization),SMM (Social Media Management) and integrates numerous social collaboration tools such as: FaceBook, MySpace, Twitter and even a custom branded YouTube channel. The site has also been mobile enabled which allows users with mobile devices like the Iphone or mobile phones using the new android based operation system to experience a site that is easier to navigate and view on the smaller screens. Along with a newsletter service and analytics reporting Operation Hug-A-Hero now has a site that moves them to the forefront of Technology for nonprofit organizations. Visitors to the site can communicate in real time:, post comments to articles or provide suggestions for story’s or even make a donation on line. We feel that we have better prepared OPERATION Hug-A-Hero to receive Corporate Sponsors, that are vital to the success of any nonprofit to help carry on their mission. Having the ability track fundraising efforts, campaigns and the like are much easier to accomplish with the site we have built for them. I guess in a way Virtual Interactive Systems is the initial corporate sponsor since we built their new site completely Pro Bono.
