According to NCP/Naptown Music, they are one of the few "real" record labels that exist today along with Amazon, Napster, eMusic, Rhapsody and iTunes. Record labels like Sony, BMG and Universal are empty shells of what was. NCP/Naptown's CEO stated, "The old major labels are hoping the public does not discover that labels with major artist are in a public relations campaign to pretend that nothing has changed." Meanwhile, the days of records being promoted in terms such as available on "Arista Records, Atlantic Records, Universal Records and Warner Bros. Records" have been replaced by terms like, available on iTunes, Amazon Music, Rhapsody and the new label known as NCP/Naptown. The NCP/Naptown label does not offer advances or budgets. They purchase finished masters and allow the artists to keep 90% of publishing rights. Naptown wants artists to realize that the music industry of the 60's, 70's 80's and 90's is dead. NCP/Naptown's CEO continued, "This is nearly 2010 and the future has arrived."
