February 2, 2009 Ft. Myers, Florida: In desperate need of new phones, but lacking proper funding for the necessity, Caviair, Corp., a Ft. Myers based data and voice provider, has donated a new, state of the art Polycom VoIP phone system to Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Southwest Florida. Caviair, Corp. engineers were also able to donate labor and materials needed to update the Foundation’s cabling system, which was a previously a tangled maze of wires. Along with the new Polycom VoIP phone system, Caviair, Corp. will be providing telephone service, Hosted PBX and internet service to the Foundation for about the same monthly cost as the Foundation was previously spending for outdated analog phone lines and slow DSL connection. The donation is valued at around $3,000.
The new Polycom VoIP phone system will allow the Foundation to run more efficiently. No longer will the employees have to leave their work and walk into another person’s office to let them know they have a phone call. They can simply transfer the call to the person, or put the caller directly into the individual’s voicemail box. No more guessing which line the call is on, and no more roll over line fees. The Foundation employees now receive voicemails in their email inbox, which they can listen to on their desktop, laptop, Blackberry or iphone. They now have the option of having phone calls ring simultaneously on their cell phones, allowing them to attend meetings or other functions away from their desk, or even away from the office, without worrying whether or not they’re missing an important call from a would-be donator.
VoIP Telephony has been aggressively developed over the past few years and is now a Business Class service which Caviair, Corp. is able to offer as an alternative to Embarq or other major voice and data provider in Southwest Florida and around the country. VoIP phones are the perfect solution for any business with only one location or multiple locations. VoIP telephony allows a business to tie each branch together with a 3 or 4 digit extension without tying up traditional phone lines, incurring long distance fees and allows a business to stop paying for “Roll Over” phone lines.
