Reports from the Philippine Department of Tourism for 2007 showed the average hotel occupancy in Manila stood at 77.03%, a 4.25% increase from the previous year. Although a small year on year up rise, it is still a positive indication on the state of the hospitality business, and tourism in general.
Beth Collingz, PLC International Marketing Networks’ director for sales of the Lancaster Brand of Condotels in the Philippines said “There are some 80 accredited hotels accredited with the Department of Tourism in Metro Manila ranging from deluxe to economy classifications. However there is now an increase of new condominium hotels in the Capital, an indicator that there are more travelers that require staying in Manila for more than just a few days”.
